Activity 3.2
These shows are different than most other shows. They inform the public and use their information to show a broad spectrum of different people to watch the show. They are funny and this draws entertainment and makes people actually want to watch. It is different than you average news show because in a regular news broadcasting it is full of information but this information is generally not entertaining. These shows entertain and make the audience want to be informed on the daily news and what is going on in our culture. They are similar because both the regular news broadcasting and The Daily Show both give you information and let you know what is going on in the world and in our culture. The main difference is that shows like The Daily show give you this information by adding humor and entertainment. The average news program seems to be dull and boring, and almost makes your mood worse. The Daily show is alive and entertaining and makes you feel happier. It is less serious than the news broadcasting.

I do not watch either show but viewed the daily show on hulu. I must say you are very right, this show was entertaining and gave the news at the same time. I believe that the people who watch these "funny" shows are mostly newer generations. Older generations like the old boring cut and dry straight news. Our generation likes to be entertained and be able to stay attentive to what we are watching. Sometimes these shows might not give the outright news, and that may frustrate people and turn people away towards the straight news again.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. Normal news broadcasts are so boring and just seems like it's full of bad news. The daily show makes it interesting and funny. It attracts all kinds of age groups and allows everyone to become interestes in whats going on with the world. It's a good way to attract all kinds of viewers and keep them coming back to the daily show for more. It's to bad that all news broadcasts aren't that way. So many people disregard the news because they get sick of the same old daily routine of whats bieng shown on the news.
